5 New COVID Cases Reported on Big Island

The Department of Health reports five new Coronavirus cases and three people hospitalized in Hawai‘i County. As of this afternoon, Hawai‘i Island currently has 93 active cases.

COVID-19 community testing is ongoing. There is a clinic scheduled this afternoon, April 27, at the Mountain View gym from 1:30-4 p.m. Three clinics are scheduled for Wednesday, April 28, in Ka‘ū, Hilo and South Kona. The testing will take place at the following locations:

  • Kahuku Park in HOVE from 9 a.m. to noon
  • Konawaena High School from 2 to 5 p.m.
  • Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium in Hilo from 3-6 p.m.

DOH also reports that vaccination slots are available for everyone 18 years of age and older at vaccination PODs and at local pharmacies. Visit the Department of Health website to register for an appointment.
