Daily COVID Rates Hold Steady as Vaccination Count Approaches 1.1 Million

The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 73 new cases of coronavirus on Wednesday. The statewide total is now 31,561. No new COVID-related deaths were reported.

Six new cases of the virus were identified on the Big Island Monday, per DOH statistics. The state’s two-week average is 80 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.6%.

A DOH map that tracks cases by district across all islands can be accessed on the department’s website.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

A total of 2,088 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 474 people have died.

To date, a total of 1,087,674 doses of vaccine have been administered statewide.
