Civil Defense Says 7 on Big Island Currently Hospitalized With COVID

The Department of Health is monitoring 106 active coronavirus cases in Hawaii County. There were two new cases reported Monday, with seven people currently hospitalized as a result of infection. 

Hawaii County scheduled two district testing sessions on Monday. One in South Kohala at the Ho`oko Park in Waikoloa and one in South Kona at the Greenwell Park. Both concluded at 11 am. District testing will continue.

You do not have to be symptomatic to get tested. Residents are encouraged to take these opportunities to get tested if you think you may have been exposed to the coronavirus. Post-arrival testing continues at Hawaii Island airports for those arriving via trans-pacific travel, with roughly 50% of passengers receiving a second test.
