Big Island Reports 14 New Cases of COVID Friday
The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 125 new cases of coronavirus Friday, raising the statewide total to 29,194. One new COVID-related death was also reported.
After several weeks of reporting double-digit cases daily, Friday marks the second consecutive day the state has registered more than 100 new cases of the virus. Fourteen new cases were identified on the Big Island Friday, according to DOH statistics.
The island-by-island case count is as follows:
O‘ahu: 22,806
Maui: 2,723
Hawai‘i: 2,418
Kaua‘i: 188
Lana‘i: 110
Moloka‘i: 34
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 911
A total of 1,963 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 459 people have died.
