Big Island Reports 10th COVID Case This Week
The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 50 new cases of coronavirus Friday, raising the statewide total to 27,048. Two new COVID-related deaths were also reported.
The state’s two-week average is 41 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 0.8%.
Two new cases were identified on the Big Island Friday, according to DOH statistics. The state’s virus tracker, which maps cases by district across all islands, can be accessed here.
The island-by-island case count is as follows:
O‘ahu: 21,716
Hawai‘i: 2,226
Maui: 1,987
Kaua‘i: 180
Lana‘i: 108
Moloka‘i: 27
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 804
A total of 1,815 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 430 people have died.
