Learn Skills to Navigate ‘Challenging Conversations’
Kuikahi Mediation Center will host an interactive workshop teaching interpersonal conversation skills for dealing with sensitive subjects. “Navigating Challenging Conversations: Skillful Honesty – Effective Action” will be offered on Friday, March 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Hawai‘i Innovations Center in Hilo.
Participants will learn tools to increase good will, cooperation and collaboration in both personal and professional relationships. The class will examine unconscious personal and cultural assumptions that lead to disconnects in relationships and offer techniques for calming reactivity, listening empathically and creating solutions through skillful dialogue.
The class will be led by Andrew Pro, a group facilitator, communication and mindfulness teacher for more than 12 years. Pro’s work focuses on opening the heart and self-discovery coupled with skills that support authenticity, trust and respect in relationships. Pro is also a professional artist and certified trainer with the Center for Nonviolent Communication.
Tuition to attend the course is $95 and includes a catered lunch. Partial scholarships are available for individuals with limited resources. Group discounts are also available.
