The United States Free Diving Federation (USFF) is hosting the exclusive U.S. premier of DOLPHIN MAN on Friday, Aug. 24, 2018, at the Aloha Theater in Kealakekua.

The film explores the legacy of Jacques Mayol, the legendary free-diver whose life became the
inspiration for THE BIG BLUE, a cult film celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.

“Hawai‘i is the heart of the waterman culture and that’s why it was so important for us to premier DOLPHIN MAN here,” said USFF Founder & President Jeremy Stephan. “Through free diving, Jacques Mayol understood how we are one with water and how life is interconnected so with this film we hope to further inspire people to protect our living ocean and planet.”

The screening coincides with the 2018 Hawai‘i Cup of Freediving, the USFF’s first national championship to be held in Kailua-Kona, Hōnaunau Bay Aug. 24 through 27, 2018.

“A few Team America members live in Hawai‘i and support from this incredible community will
be an important and necessary milestone on their road to the world championships” said
Stephan. “The next stop is the Olympic Games within the next 6-10 years and Hawai’i is an
important training ground for the U.S.”

The exclusive screening of DOLPHIN MAN will be held at Kealakekua’s Aloha Theater on Aug.
24, 2018, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12.50 and can be purchased online  and will be available at the door.
