UPDATE: Suspect Arrested & Charged
Update: The Hawai‘i Island Police Department has arrested and charged Gilbert DeSa.
Earlier, police asked for public assistance in locating DeSa who was wanted on an outstanding warrant. Police acting on a public tip were able to locate and arrest DeSa without incident on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018, at about 4:55 p.m in the Puna area. Currently he is being held on $2,000 bail set by the court.
The Hawai‘i Island Police Department wants to thank the public for their assistance in the apprehension of DeSa. It is through the continued effort of working together with the community that made this apprehension a success.
Original Post: Hawaiʻi Island police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Gilbert DeSa, who is wanted on an outstanding warrant.
He is described as 5-feet-8-inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds, with dyed ʻehu (white) hair.
DeSa was last known to be in the Puna and Hilo areas.
