Swell Summary
Outlook through Tuesday August 14: A series of small south swells are expected through Wednesday. Another small south swell is expected Friday and Saturday. A small north swell is expected to arrive late today, peak tonight and Wednesday, then lower gradually Thursday and Friday. Short-period, choppy surf will continue to impact east facing shores. Swells from Hurricane Hector are expected to impact south and east facing shores during the middle of the week. All other shores are expected to remain below advisory level through this week.
Surf heights are forecast heights of the face, or front, of waves. The surf forecast is based on the significant wave height, the average height of the one third largest waves, at the locations of the largest breakers. Some waves may be more than twice as high as the significant wave height. Expect to encounter rip currents in or near any surf zone.
North East

Surf: Shoulder to head high ESE ground swell for the morning with occasional 1-2′ overhead sets. This builds to well overhead high for the afternoon.
Conditions: Clean in the morning with SSW winds less than 5mph. Semi glassy/semi bumpy conditions for the afternoon with the winds shifting to the NE.
North West

Conditions: Glassy in the morning with SSW winds less than 5mph. Sideshore texture/chop conditions for the afternoon with the winds shifting SW 10-15mph.
West

Surf: Knee to thigh high S medium period swell in the morning builds in the afternoon with occasional sets up to stomach high.
Conditions: Glassy in the morning with ESE winds less than 5mph. Bumpy/semi bumpy conditions for the afternoon with the winds shifting SW 5-10mph.
South East

Surf: Shoulder to head high E ground swell for the morning with occasional 1-2′ overhead sets. This builds to well overhead high for the afternoon.
Conditions: Fairly clean in the early morning with N winds 10-15mph. Sideshore texture/chop conditions move in during the morning hours with the winds shifting NNE.
