Hospice of Kona’s 10th Annual Royal Tea Fundraiser

Hospice of Kona’s 10^th annual Royal Tea brings back the “Fancy Hat Contest” on Saturday, Aug. 18, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m at the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai.

As in years past, guests are welcome to don festive hats and outfits as they celebrate life, friendship, and honor those who have passed away. This fundraiser for Hospice of Kona’s residential hospice home, Nakamaru Hale, will treat guests to a traditional high tea—featuring tasty mini sandwiches, pastries, scones and more—all with a Hawaiian twist.

Tickets start at $55. There are also discounts for a ticket plus a wine glass (which includes unlimited wine at the event), duo tickets, tables of 10 and others.o purchase tickets, visit online or stop by the HOK office at 75-5925 Walua Rd. 

“Nakamaru Hale provides such an important space for hospice residents and their families who need an alternative to in-home care,” said Laura Varney, Hospice of Kona CEO. “We’re so proud that for 10 years our Royal Tea has brought the community together to not only support the Hale but each other.”

Nakamaru Hale provides a comforting and compassionate home-like setting for up to five hospice patients who need an alternative to home care. The Hale offers respite, transitional or longer-term care during the final months of life. Hospice of Kona’s health care team works closely with patient, family and doctors as they develop a customized plan to care for physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs.
