The Pāhoa eruption information meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018, has been canceled as Hawai‘i County prepares for Hurricane Hector.

As of early Monday, Aug. 6, the Category 4 hurricane was located 930 miles east/southeast of
Hilo.
