Child safety seats can dramatically improve a child’s chances of surviving a car crash. But in many cases, children are either not properly buckled into their safety seats or the seats are not properly installed.
The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation’s goal for child passenger safety is to make sure all parents and caregivers are correctly using the right restraint (rear-facing car seat, forward-facing car seat, booster seat, or seat belt) for their children’s ages and sizes.
Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will be on-site at the Waimea Town Market this Saturday, June 9, from 8 a.m. to Noon to provide education on how to use car seats, booster seats and seat belts for children. The Waimea Town Market is held at Parker School located at 65-1224 Lindsey Rd. in Kamuela.
