Want to learn about how laws are created in Hawai‘i and how you can be a part of the process to make your voice heard?The Public Access Room (PAR) will host a series of free workshops on Hawai‘i Island on Nov. 8 and Nov. 9 to help citizens understand and participate in the legislative process.
The workshop series, designed for newcomers and experienced advocates alike, will offer tips and tools that residents can use to effectively communicate with lawmakers. Participants will learn about techniques for effective lobbying, testimony and communication, as well as the legislative process, deadlines and power dynamics at the state capitol. There will be handouts, guides and other resources provided to help attendees navigate the legislative system.
The “Your Voice” workshop presentation series will be held at the following times and locations:
Kailua-Kona: Wednesday, Nov. 8, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the West Hawai‘i Civic Center – Community Hale,

Honoka‘a: Thursday, Nov. 9, from noon to 1 p.m. at the North Hawai‘i Education & Research Center (NHERC), 45-539 Plumeria Street
Hilo: Thursday, Nov. 9, from 5 to 6 p.m. at Hawai‘i Community College, Manono Campus, 1175 Manono Street Building 371, Room 1 (Kaneikeao)
