The Hawai‘i County Department of Water Supply’s Keahuolū Deepwell has now been repaired and is operational.

The well was out of service since last Thursday, causing the emergency restriction and limiting water usage to health and safety needs only.

Due to the public’s help, water service was maintained to all users during this emergency.

Because four wells are still being repaired, DWS customers are reminded that the mandatory water restriction is still in effect for the North Kona area.

This means everyone must continue to reduce their normal usage by 25%.

DWS will continue to monitor water use.

For more information, including a schedule of well repairs, and ways to reduce water usage, go online or call the DWS  during normal business hours at 961-8060. During after-hours and for emergencies, call 961-8790.
