Volcano Art Center Offering Stained Glass Workshop
Volcano Art Center (VAC) is hosting a class for stained glass students looking to sharpen their skills. “Stained Glass II: Panel Lamp Project,” will be held at VAC on Saturday and Sunday, June 24 and 25, and July 1, 2, 8 and 9, from 9 a.m. to noon.
Instructed by Claudia McCall, the class will explore the design and construction of triangular shaped table panel lamps. Students will be creating their own stained glass table lamps. The technique can be applied to other panel lamp shapes.
McCall will provide patterns. Students may bring their own designs but custom patterns will need to be adapted to three panels that measure 4.25 inches by 9 inches.
The class fee is $150 general, $135 for VAC members, plus a $15 supply fee. Students must have previous experience working with stained glass using the copper foil technique. Attendees are asked to wear long pants, snug fitting gloves, covered shoes and safety glasses.
Advance registration is required and the workshop is limited to six adults. To register, call VAC at (808) 967-8222 or visit www.volcanoartcenter.org.
