Memory Lane Thrift Store Seeking Beach Items for Fundraiser

Hospice of Kona’s Memory Lane Thrift Store is seeking gently used boogie boards, noodles, coolers, sand toys, beach chairs and more for a special summer fundraiser.

All proceeds will benefit Hospice of Kona’s residential hospice home, Nakamaru Hale.

Donations may be made directly to Memory Lane Thrift Store, which is located at 75-5745 Kuakini Highway (where the old 7-Eleven used to be) in Kailua-Kona.

All donations are tax deductible; simply request a receipt after you drop off your items.

The fundraiser will be announced later this month.

“Vacationers and visitors leave behind a lot of great beach items,” said “Laura Varney, Hospice of Kona CEO. “Other vacationers and residents who are happy to save some money and at the same time donate to Nakamaru Hale will find this the perfect fundraiser.”

Hospice of Kona opened Memory Lane Thrift Store in 2010. It features carefully chosen, gently used clothing, furniture, beach items, household goods, jewelry and unique vintage items.

Nakamaru Hale provides a comforting and compassionate home-like setting for hospice patients who need an alternative to home care. The residence accommodates up to five hospice patients for respite, transitional or longer-term care during their final months of life.
