Free Talk on Care for Chronic and Terminally Ill

Kupu Care invites the public to attend a free community talk entitled “I Don’t Want to be a Burden to My Loved Ones” on Thursday, June 15, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

The talk will discuss the choices available to persons living with chronic, serious or terminal illnesses. Attendees will learn about the practical concepts of adapting to and understanding a life for a person with a chronic or serious illness.

“It’s about learning how things could be better–much better–through awareness and preparation for ourselves, the people we love, and the community we live in,” said presenter Lani Weigert. “This presentation is about making the best of what is often the very worst time of life. Knowing that a quality life can have a quality ending.”

Weigert said life education is needed more than ever, but rarely discussed openly.

The presentation will be held at Kupu Care’s community building at 1011 Waiānuenue Avenue in Hilo.
