Hawai‘i Ranks No. 2 in Nation for Senior-friendly Living

According to an extensive nationwide study performed by SeniorAdvice.com, Hawai‘i ranks second in the country for most senior-friendly accommodations.

The study results measured how each state in the U.S. accommodates the comfort and needs of senior citizens, determining the top ten best and worst states for retirees and senior citizens in 2017.

Virginia ranked ahead of Hawai‘i at No. 1 for best states for seniors. New Mexico ranked third.

In the top 10 list of worst state for seniors to live in, California ranked first, Illinois second and New Mexico third, according to the study.

SeniorAdvice.com used an algorithm to examine variables in four specific categories during the study: health and safety, recreation and leisure, finance and overall quality of life.

The following states in the U.S. were named as the most senior-friendly according to SeniorAdvice.com:
