Fiber Optic Break: Communication Affected from Kau through Kona

At 10:45 a.m. on May 14, 2017, Hawaiian Telcom reported a possible fiber optic break in the area of Hwy 190 and Hwy 200 (the Daniel K. Inouye Highway junction).

Communications may be affected along the western portion of the island from Kau through Kona.

Officials ask that if you are unable to access the County 911 system and require medical, fire or police, to go directly to your nearest police or fire station for assistance.
