Music Lineup Announced for Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards
Organizers have released a preview of musical performances for the 40th Annual Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards, including Hilo native Kalani Pe’a.
The awards distinguish the best entertainers in the Hawai’i music industry and will feature performances by icons of Hawai’i’s music scene performing together with some of this year’s nominees.
A few Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards nominees scheduled to perform include A Touch of Gold, Alx Kawakami, Amy Hanaiali’i Gilliom, Blayne Asing, Hoku Zuttermeister, Ian O’Sullivan, IZIK, Jeff Peterson, Kalani Pe’a, Kawika Kahiapo, Keauhou, Kunia Galderia, Ra’iatea Helm and Yoza.
In honor of the 40th anniversary, the show will also honor legendary musicians in local music with performances and tributes by:
– Hawaiian Style Band
– Henry Kapono
– John Cruz
– Mana`o Company and Ho`aikane
– Malani Bilyue
– Na Leo Pilimehana
– Pure Heart (featuring Jake Shimabukuro, Jon Yamasato and Lopaka Colon)
“This year’s Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards will feature unforgettable performances by a slate of incredible nominees as well as true industry icons spanning decades of Hawai’iʻs music,” said Pali Ka’aihue, president of the Hawai‘i Academy of Recording Arts. “The show is close to being sold out so we strongly encourage everyone to purchase their tickets now!”
The Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards recognizes the winners in 34 different categories selected by the more than 600 members of the Hawai’i Academy of Recording Arts.
The 40th Annual Nā Hōkū Hanohano award show will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Hawai’i Convention Center. Tickets start at $170 for General Admission, $150 for Kama’āina and are $250 for Premium Seats.
