Drive Aloha Fair in Hilo
April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month and DTRIC Insurance and the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation are partnering to host interactive community fairs statewide to remind motorists about the importance of driving safely.
As part of its ongoing Drive Aloha traffic safety campaign, DTRIC is sponsoring a Drive Aloha community fair at Prince Kuhio Plaza in Hilo on Saturday, April 1 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
In Hilo and at other events across the state, the public can participate in experiences to better understand the dangers of distracted driving and driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, as well as learn more about pedestrian safety and child passenger safety.
“DTRIC is honored to be teaming up with the state Department of Transportation in these community events,” said Michele Saito, DTRIC president and CEO. “The ‘Drive Aloha’ community fairs are a more interactive way to encourage people to be courteous drivers, embrace positive behaviors and practice the aloha spirit to make the road safer and friendlier for everyone.”
