Taking Your Product to Market Workshop
This workshop is geared towards small agricultural producers entering into the Value Added Products industry.
Topics that will be covered include technical knowledge about the food product development process and the specialty food industry requirements.
Participants will also learn about marketing to the various channels, how pricing can be affected, industry vocabulary and expectations from grocers.
Producers will be guided through the steps from concept development to the market, with an emphasis on factors to consider for scaling up the product from the kitchen to commercial production.
Nancy Ginter-Miller, West Hawai’i SBDC’s business advisor, will be presenting the workshop.
She will provide examples to illustrate the steps and end goal. In addition to the aspects of product development, the course will cover product cost calculations, with real-world business examples.
Her expertise has helped countless clients successfully take their products to market, perfect their process to save time and money and navigate federal, state and county food regulations.
The workshop will be held on Oct. 27, 2016 from 9 to 11:30 am at Kuakini Tower, Ste 209, 75-5722 Kuakini Hwy in Kailua-Kona.
