Bello Named to All-American Underclassmen List
Hilo High School sophomore Micah Bello has been recognized as the only high school baseball player from the Big Island to make the Perfect Game/Rawlings High School All-American Underclassmen Honorable Mention list, which was announced last week.
Bello, primarily an outfielder for Hilo, was batting .333 with a home run and three runs batted in entering Monday’s home game against Kealakehe.
Perfect Game and Rawlings notes that Bello has given an early commitment to St. Mary’s.
Another Big Island baseball player who received recognition was Caleb Freitas-Fields, who has previously pitched for Waiakea High School. The left-handed pitcher was named to Perfect Game and Rawlings’ All-American Honorable Mention Team.
