Hawai’i Electric Light to Close Waimea Payment Office
Hawai’i Electric Light plans to close its Waimea bill payment office in May.
The office is located at the Hawai’i Electric Light Waimea Base Yard.
“We know that having a convenient location to pay bills is important to our customers, so we’ve worked hard to offer other locations and options,” said Anna Arase, Customer Service Manager.
With the closure, Hawai’i Electric Light is offering additional payment options through Western Union, where service fees will be waived when accepting electric bill payments. Customers should present their bill stubs when making payments at Western Union.
Bill payments can also be paid at First Hawaiian Bank, however, the bank charges a service fee.
Over the phone and online bill payment services are conducted through Western Union Speedpay. The fee has been reduced to $1.99, according to Hawai’i Electric Light.
Hawai’i Electric Light’s Hilo and Kona bill payment offices remain open during their regular scheduled hours.
Despite the closure of the bill payment office, the Waimea engineering office, also located at the Waimea Base Yard, will remain open by appointment.
