HPA Ka Makani Players to Present ‘Bloody Murder’
Hawai’i Preparatory Academy’s Ka Makani Players will present “Bloody Murder,” a mystery comedy with a literary twist.
The Players will perform the show on the stage of the Gates Performing Arts Center from Feb. 25 through Feb. 27, beginning at 7 p.m. nightly.
Set in the 1930s, playwright Ed Sala gathers a group of the usual British murder-mystery types for a weekend retreat at a sumptuous county estate, and weaves an intricate plot with many surprising and unexpected twists and turns.
Curtis McMackin will be featured as The Major, Sarah Emmons as Lady Somerset, Colby Camero as Charles, Adam Pigott as Devon Tremain, Kate Gargiulo as Jane, and Riley McMackin as Emma.
Thomas Yoo will also take the stage in three roles – Chief Inspector Phelps, Mr. Woo, and The Priest – while Sophia Markstein triples as The Countess, The Motorist, and The Nun.
Marina Tichotsky, HPA’s theatre instructor, will direct the play and also acts as costume designer. Jared Terpak is technical director.
Tickets can only be purchased at the door and costs $10 for adults and $5 for students.
