UPDATE: Flood Advisory Extended Through 7:45 p.m.

The National Weather Service has extended a Flood Advisory issued for the Big Island through 7:45 p.m.

At about 4:50 p.m. NWS reported that radar was showing persistent rain that could lead to the potential of minor flooding from Volcano to South Point. Radar imagery reportedly showed rainfall rates of up to one inch per hour.

Hawaiian Ocean View, Kawa Flats, Pahala, Naalehu, Wood Valley, Punaluu Beach and Volcano are included in the advisory.

A Flood Advisory issued for the Big Island has been extended through 5 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service, just before 2 p.m. radar was showing persistent rain that has the potential to cause minor flooding from Punaluu Beach to Hilo and through Upolu Point.

Based on radar data, up to two inches of rain per hour was falling in some areas.

Hilo, Mountain View, Laupahoehoe, Honoka’a, Waipio Velley and Volcano were all included in the advisory.

The National Weather Service has once again extended the Flood Advisory for the Big Island, this time through 2:15 p.m.

Just after 11 a.m., radar was showing persistent rain that has the potential to cause minor flooding in the advisory area.

NWS reports that rain is stretching and area from Upolu Point to Laupahoehoe, with rainfall up to one inch per hour.

Waipio Valley, Honoka’a, Kamuela, Laupahoehoe, and Hawi are all included in the advisory.

The Flood Advisory issued for the Big Island has been extended through 11:15 a.m.

According to the National Weather Service, radar was showing heavy rain just after 8 a.m. The rainfall is expected to cause minor flooding in the advisory area.

NWS reports heavy rain along the Hamakua Coast from Upolu Point to Laupahoehoe. Rain in some areas is falling up to one inch per hour.

Kapaau, Honokaa, Kamuela, Laupahoehoe, Kukuihaele, Paauilo, Halaula, and Mahukona are all included in the advisory.

A northeast to southwest band of showers has been spreading showers across Maui county and the northern half of the Big Island during the overnight hours, and will keep drifting eastward today. The trade wind flow will focus most of those showers over windward and mauka areas.

A Flood Advisory is posted through 8:15 a.m. and could be extended should conditions persist.

Radar has indicated persistent rain over Waipio Valley and near Kapaau. Other locations in the advisory include, but are not limited to, Kapaau, Honokaa, Waimea, Laupahoehoe, Kukuihaele, Paauilo, Halaula, Hawi and Mahukona.

Oho is now a hurricane but continues to track away from the Hawaiian islands.
