The Aloha Art Festival will take place at the ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center on Sunday, Aug 2.

Art creation stations, keiki activities, star talks, educational booths, and guest speakers will fill the day-long festival from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

During the event, an art contest will be held as the search for a piece to represent culture, natural environment, and innovation on Mauna Kea is sought after. The winning art work will be displayed at the Visitor Information Station on Mauna Kea, as well as at the ‘Imiloa.

The festival’s admission, both to the exhibit hall and planetarium, will be free of charge with the submission of an art piece per person attending. Submitted art can be completed beforehand or prepared at the center. Stations with various supplies, including those for painting, coloring, and textiles will be available for use.
