The intersection of Queen Ka’ahumanu Highway and Kawaihae Road has been reopened, according to the Hawai’i Police Department.

The Hawai’i Police Department says a traffic accident at the intersection of Queen Ka’ahumanu Highway and Kawaihae Road has led to the closure of the intersection.

Just after 10 a.m. Wednesday, authorities announced the closure of the road after what bystanders say appears to be the trailer of a heavy duty truck overturned while turning.
