A Small Craft Advisory is posted for Big Island leeward and southeast waters through 6:00 a.m. Friday. Northeast winds up to 25 knots are forecasted along with rough seas of 6 to 12 feet. Inexperienced mariners should avoid navigating in these conditions.

Today we expect high temperatures from 80° to 85°. Winds will continue to be out of the east from 15 to 20 mph. Leeward sides should be mostly sunny in the morning with some clouds building in the afternoon and scattered showers. Windward sides should be partly to mostly cloudy with scattered showers.

Tonight
Mostly cloudy skies are expected tonight with likely windward showers. Partly cloudy for leeward spots with scattered showers and clearing as the night goes on. East winds are forecasted from 15 to 20 mph. Low temperatures from 68° to 74° are expected.
Looking Ahead
Locally breezy trade winds are expected to continue through the week picking up a bit over the weekend. Clouds and showers will favor windward and mauka areas, especially during the night and morning hours. Some showers could pass leeward from time to time. The lee side of the Big Island will also have clouds and some showers each afternoon.
