Longs Drugs’ parent company CVS Health will be taking over all 10 Mina Pharmacy locations statewide, including the Hilo and Kona stores on the Big Island. The change of hands will be effective Monday, April 13, and Big Island locations will be rebranded under the Longs Drugs name.

According to a statement released by CVS Health, the transition will be seamless to ensure continued care and service for patients.  Most Mina employees will retain employment under the new company.

Mina Pharmacy’s owners, Adel Etinas and Hany Guirguis, chose Longs to take over their stores after determining it would be the best fit for employees and patients.

“It’s been a privilege for us to serve this community for the past 18 years, and we owe it to our customers to ensure that they will continue to receive the highest quality of care,” said Etinas. “We’d like to sincerely thank the community for their support throughout the years.”
