Old Navy Coming Soon to PKP
Old Navy is coming to Hilo.
Big Island Now got official word Tuesday that Old Navy will be opening at the Prince Kuhio Plaza in the Fall.
An Old Navy official who wished to maintain anonymity told Big Island Now that the Hilo store’s estimated opening date is in mid-October. Permits, construction, and other factors cause this estimated time period to remain flexible.
In addition to the opening time frame, BIN learned that the location will be inside the plaza in the Macy’s Men, Children and Home wing, near the new Pier 1 Imports store that is scheduled to open on Friday, March 20.
The retail location will also follow the company’s newer version of Old Navy, much like the one currently on Maui.
This will be the first Old Navy on the Big Island and the fourth in the state, including locations in Honolulu, Waipahu, and in Kahului.
Currently, company officials are seeking someone to fill the store’s manager position so that training can get underway and additional employees can be hired. Those interested in the manager positon can visit the Gap Inc. website to submit an application and resume.
Old Navy is one of Gap Inc.’s six brands including Gap, Banana Republic, Intermix, Athleta, and Piperlime. Old Navy prides itself on being a brand for everyone, creating affordable fashion that doesn’t take itself too seriously and isn’t afraid to break industry rules.
With roots dating to San Francisco in 1994, Old Navy has since grown to over 1,000 retail locations globally and an online store that makes shopping from anywhere a possibility in the span of just over two decades.
