No Advisories After 3.7 Kailua-Kona Quake

There were no immediate advisories issued following a preliminary magnitude 3.7 earthquake reported at 12:22 a.m. today (Friday, March 6, 2015) on the West end of Hawaiʻi Island.

The quake was mostly felt in Kailua-Kona, where 98 people responded to the USGS “Did You Feel It” website. According to the site, the quake was felt from as far away as Honolulu. If you felt the earthquake and would like to contribute to USGS data collection click HERE to submit your observations.

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 13 kilometers and was located 2 miles NNE of Kailua-Kona, Hawaiʻi; 58 miles W of Hilo, Hawaiʻi; 66 miles W of Hawaiian Paradise Park, Hawaiʻi; and 82 miles SSE of Kihei on Maui, according to the USGS.
