HPL Mask-Making Workshop
The Hilo Public Library will hold a “Mask-Making Workshop” with Lee Michael Walczuk, a veteran of fine arts and theatrical training with more than 30 years of experience.
HPL will host the two-part event on two dates, Saturday, Feb. 28 and Saturday, March 7. On both days, the workshop will be held on the library’s lanai from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Attendees, who must be able to attend both portions of the workshop, will learn about the mask-making process, including research, demonstration, and the creation of paper-based masks.
Children of all ages are invited to attend the free workshop, which includes supplies. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
Participation is limited to 20 individuals and interested parties must register by calling the library or visiting the adult reference desk.
Those who may need a sign language interpreter or other special accommodations are asked to call the library three weeks prior to the event.
