All winners will be listed in Successful Meetings’ annual Pinnacle Registry, published in August and online here.
Along with sister property Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel, Mauna Kea Resort combines 30 venues for nearly 150,000 square feet of meeting space.
Golf Magazine – Top 100 Courses You Can Play 2014
Mauna Kea Golf Course earned the No. 33 spot on Golf Magazine’s “Top 100 Courses You Can Play 2014” list.
The course is one of four Hawai`i golf courses and the only Hawai`i Island course to make the ranking, which was determined by a panel of golf writers, industry insiders and professional golf course raters. The magazine’s September issue will feature the full list.
Mauna Kea Golf Course was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., who pioneered the technique of creating a soil base from lava rock that became a staple of Hawai`i Island golf courses.
Golf’s Big Three, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player and Jack Nicklaus, christened the Mauna Kea Golf Course in a legendary match in December 1964, which was then televised nationwide on March 6, 1965.
Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, founded by venture capitalist and conservationist Laurance S. Rockefeller in 1965, will mark its 50th anniversary in 2015.
