Changes At Suisan
Suisan Company Ltd. CEO Glenn Hashimoto was named president of the Hilo-based company Jan. 1, to replace the retiring long-time company president Rex Matsuno. Established in 1907, Suisan has 175 employees in the food distribution business on the Big Island, said a release. Matsuno started with the company in 1947.
Chocolate For All
The Original Donkey Balls Store and Factory has expanded its production and wholesale operations and now distributes 60 gourmet chocolate selections, including vegan chocolate donkey balls.
Geocaching Kailua
The Kailua Village Business Improvement District is adding a number of new activities this year, including a weekly “Tuesday Trot” 5K Fun Run and Walk. Soon Historic Kailua Village will also be added to the world list of nearly 2 million geocache locations, allowing “geocachers” to find historic and cultural treasures on “Royal Footsteps Along the Kona Coast,” a Hawaii Scenic Byway in the village. Hamakua Business
Pau Hana meetings for small businesses and startup in Honokaa, sponsored by the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club of North Hawaii, are open to everyone from 5-7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month. The meetings are open to everyone for networking, exchanging news, and developing new business opportunities.
