The event is slated to tee off at 8 a.m. June 27 at Kona Country Club, located at 78-7000 Ali‘i Drive, in Kailua-Kona. Proceeds raised by the tournament will support Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children in Honolulu.

Kapi‘olani is the only full-service maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital in the state.

“Our Kona Walmart team is excited to collaborate with [Children’s Miracle Network] and the Kona community to raise funds for the amazing Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children,” said golf tournament co-chairperson and Kona Walmart Manager John Yates III in a release about the annual event. “It’s such a rewarding opportunity to contribute to a cause that makes a real difference in the lives of children and families. Together, we can create positive change and support the vital services that Kapi‘olani provides.”

Kona Walmart helped raise $117,747 in 2025 for Hawai‘i’s Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, and the Big Island store was also a top fundraiser for Walmart throughout the United States.

The golf tournament will be a shotgun start, four-person scramble, with a maximum of 140 players. Highlights will include hole-in-one, longest drive and closest-to-the-pin challenges, as well as team prizes, food, entertainment and more.

Big Island community members who aren’t participating in the benefit event also can support the annual fundraising campaign through July 5 at checkouts at Walmart and Sam’s Club locations throughout the nation.
