Hawai’i athletes to compete at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games in Minnesota

Hawaiʻi athletes are headed to the mainland for the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games, bringing the aloha spirit to Minnesota this summer.

Special Olympics Hawaiʻi announced its delegation for Team Hui O Hawaiʻi, which will include athletes, unified partners, coaches and youth leaders from across the state.

Competitors from all 50 states will compete in the games, which run June 20–26.

Members of the Hawaiʻi delegation will compete in basketball, bowling, and track and field events, showcasing their skills on a national stage.

The team also includes two Unified Champion Schools Youth Leaders from Campbell High School, who will serve in leadership roles during the competition.

Organizers said the games celebrate inclusion, sportsmanship and community, highlighting the abilities and achievements of athletes with intellectual disabilities.
