Bank of Hawai‘i transforms KTA Pū‘āinakō location into its third Branch of Tomorrow
Bank of Hawai‘i recently celebrated the reopening of its newly renovated KTA Pū‘āinakō Branch, advancing its investment in Hawai‘i Island communities with its third Branch of Tomorrow transformation in just 3 months.

The bank has been in the Hilo community since 1922 and had a branch inside the locally owned and operated KTA Super Stores at Pū‘āinakō for 30 years.
Its first service offered at KTA Pū‘āinakō was an automatic teller machine, or ATM. As the bank’s newest Branch of Tomorrow, the location features an outdoor, 24/7 Easy Deposit ATM as well as an indoor ATM accessible during store hours.
The 538-square-foot space was thoughtfully modernized to provide additional space to serve the community, including an expanded technology-focused Teller Bar and dedicated space for in-person consultations.
“Over the years, we’ve built a strong and enduring relationship with KTA Super Stores, rooted in a shared commitment to serving our local community,” said Bank of Hawai‘i President and Chief Banking Officer Jim Polk in an announcement about the transformation. “This renovation reflects that partnership and our mutual dedication to Hawai‘i Island.”
The KTA Pū‘āinakō Branch is located inside the grocery store and open 6 days a week.
- Address: 50 E. Pū‘āinakō St., Suite 113, Hilo.
- Business hours: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
“KTA continues to make a meaningful difference by supporting local businesses and giving back, and Bank of Hawai‘i is proud to partner with an organization that shares our values and dedication to Hawai‘i,” Polk said.
It’s long been Bank of Hawai‘i’s mission to provide for communities of all sizes and support their evolving needs.
The bank is honored to be the only financial institution with branches on all main Hawaiian islands and throughout the West Pacific — with 51 branches systemwide.
Bank of Hawai‘i is committed to investing in Branch of Tomorrow transformations throughout its network and most recently completed upgrades in November 2025 to its Ka‘ū and Kona branches on Hawai‘i Island.
