Celebrate Presidents’ Day with money, math and music at Hawai‘i Keiki Museum event

School’s out on Presidents’ Day, Feb. 16, so Hawai‘i Keiki Museum invites kids ages 7 to 14 years old to celebrate the holiday with money, math and music at two locations.

Financial manager Brett will lead an exciting afternoon of keiki financial management at the museum in Waikoloa. Participants will do a business startup simulation and play the CashFlow board game.

Mr. Kneel, Evan and Gabriel are hosting an afternoon in Ocean View filled with breaking, flying, and beatboxing, plus rhythmic math fun.

Waikōloa schedule

  • 9 a.m.: Drop-off begins.
  • 9:30 a.m.: Explore credit cards and banking.
  • 10:30 a.m.: Exhibit exploration.
  • 11 a.m.: Simulate starting a food truck business.
  • Noon: Lunch.
  • 1 p.m.: Play CashFlow.
  • 2 p.m.: Pick up.

Ocean View schedule

  • 10 a.m.: Drop-off begins.
  • 10:30 a.m.: Explore music and dance.
  • 11:30 a.m.: Lunch.
  • Noon: Learn about money and math.
  • 1 p.m.: Practice our moves.
  • 2 p.m.: Pick up.

What to bring to the workshop:

  • Lunch.
  • Water bottle (clearly labeled).
  • Snacks.
