UPDATE: 45-year-old woman found in good health

Editor’s note: This story is updated to correct that the woman was found on Feb. 10, and not missing for more than a month.

Update at 5:55 p.m. Feb. 28, 2026: Hawai‘i Police Department reports 45-year-old Monica Iaukea, who was previously missing, was located in good health on Feb. 10.

Police thank the public for their cooperation and assistance with locating her.

Story originally posted at 3:11 p.m. Feb. 9, 2026: Hawai‘i Island police seek the public’s help in finding a missing and endangered woman.

Monica Iaukea, 45, was last seen in Hilo on Feb. 6 at 11 a.m. on the 100 block of Wainaku Street. She is Hawaiian, 5 feet and 5 inches tall, 170 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes, and a fair complexion.

According to police, Iaukea is in need of medication.

Anyone with information on Iaukea’s whereabouts is advised to call 911 or the police non-emergency line at 808-935-3311.
