Updated Jan. 22, 6:20 p.m.: Jiro Ohnishi, 67, who was reported missing on Tuesday in South Kohala was found Thursday safe and in good health, Hawaiʻi Island police said.

Original post: Hawai‘i Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing and endangered man last seen Tuesday afternoon in the South Kohala District.

Jiro Ohnishi, 67, of Japanese descent, stands 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 171 pounds. He was last seen around 4 p.m. on Jan. 20 near Waikoloa Road.

Authorities say Ohnishi may need immediate assistance.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to call 911 or Hawai’i police non-emergency line at 808-935-3311.
