Registration open now for winter classes at Kahilu Theatre in Waimea
Registration is now open for Kahilu Education Winter Classes.
In addition to the regular slate of youth programs — such as Waimea Youth Chorus, Creative Drama, Center Stage and others — this winter’s offerings include classes designed especially for kūpuna and adults interested in creative expression, movement and community connection.
Classes begin Jan. 6 at Kahilu Theatre in Waimea.

Theatre and Acting Classes

Acting Out Loud Kūpuna!
- Tuesdays: 9 to 11 a.m.
- Ages 62 years old and older
This is a welcoming class that invites older adults to explore creativity through theatre and movement in a supportive, engaging setting.
Participants will be encouraged to use their voice, body and imagination while building confidence and connection with others.
Dance Classes

Intro to Partnership Dance
- Wednesdays: 6 to 7 p.m.
- Ages 18 years old and older
This fun, beginner-friendly class is where to learn the basics of foxtrot and East Coast swing. Learn how to lead and follow with confidence.
The goal is simple: learn how to partner dance to different styles of music, and have a great time doing it.
All levels welcome. No partner necessary.

Adult Ballet
- Wednesdays: 8:45 to 9:45 a.m.
- Ages 18 years old and older
A beginner-friendly class that is a perfect place to start — or start again.
Participants will learn the basics of ballet vocabulary and placement through barre and center floor exercises while also building strength, flexibility and coordination, improving posture, balance and body awareness.
The timeless art of ballet is a beautiful way to boost confidence, mental focus and grace in everyday movement.
No experience required — all bodies and levels welcome.
