The Boys & Girls Club of the Big Island is asking the community to support its annual “It Just Takes One” fundraising campaign to sustain youth programs heading into the new year.

The nonprofit organization, which has served Hawaiʻi Island for more than 70 years, provides affordable youth development services for children and families who may lack access to basic resources, club officials said.

The campaign coincides with the holiday season, a time when needs often increase for families across the island.

Club leaders recently marked the season by participating in the 2025 Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce Annual Toy Drive, thanking donors and volunteers for helping bring holiday gifts to local children.

The Boys & Girls Club of the Big Island offers a range of services aimed at supporting working families and promoting healthy development.

Programs include daily nutritional supplementation for children who rely on the club for regular meals, safe, reliable shuttle transportation to after-school programs, and enrichment activities focused on academics, the creative arts, culture, and healthy lifestyles.

The nonprofit also provides leadership development, community service opportunities, organized sports, and full-day programming during winter and summer breaks, offering up to nine hours of daily child care to support parents’ work schedules.
