For her exceptional leadership, proactive enforcement and dedication to the community, Hawaiʻi Police Officer Jenna Kosinski-Santos was honored as the Ka‘ū Officer of the Quarter during a ceremony last month at the Nā‘ālehu Community Center.

Kosinski-Santos has served in the Ka‘ū District since June 2021. She has become known for her commitment to public safety and her methodical, results-driven approach to law enforcement, according to a police news release.

“She’s a pro-active officer who has a gift of motivating those around her,” Ka‘ū District Acting Captain Pernell Hanoa said.

Her work ethic and in-depth understanding of criminal behavior have been key to her success.

Kosinski-Santos also was named Ka‘ū’s Top Enforcer for 2023 and received the Hawai‘i County Council Haweo Award in May 2022 for rescuing an elderly man trapped in a vehicle. She was also named Officer of the Month by the Kona Crime Prevention Committee in December 2020 for her response to a fatal traffic collision while off duty.
