A fire hydrant flow test is scheduled along Ali‘i Drive.

The test will be conducted on Thursday from 3 to 4 a.m., impacting Hawai‘i County Department of Water Supply customers from King Kamehameha Kona Beach Hotel to Lunapule Road, including any side roads and lanes makai (ocean side) of Kuakini Highway.

According to county officials, the affected area may experience slightly discolored and turbid water for several hours after the test. Customers are advised to refrain from washing clothes and to store a container of water for their drinking needs until the supply of water is restored to normal.

Should customers experience any unusual problems during or after the flushing period, call district supervisors Joshule Johnston or Dustin Kaneta-Ogata at 808-322-0600.
