Renovations have begun at the Kings’ Shops at Waikōloa Beach Resort.

Work began in July, which includes updating common areas, landscaping, and restrooms. The project is expected to be completed this winter, according to a Kings’ Shops press release.

The shopping center, located at 250 Waikōloa Beach Drive, remains fully open during construction, and guests are encouraged to visit for shopping, dining and cultural events.

The renovation is designed to elevate the look and feel of the center while keeping daily operations running. Construction is being staged so retailers and restaurants remain accessible throughout the work.

“Kings’ Shops has long been a gathering place for the community and visitors alike,” said Lynn Rostau, general manager of Kings’ Shops. “As we mark 35 years in 2026, possibility is in full bloom as this renovation re-creates a sense of place where guests can enjoy the best Hawai‘i Island has to offer.”

Kings’ Shops opened in 1991 as part of Waikōloa Beach Resort on the Kohala Coast. Over the years it has become a destination for both residents and travelers, with international retailers such as Tiffany & Co., lululemon and Tori Richard alongside Hawai‘i brands including Kahala, Roy’s Waikoloa Bar & Grill, Foster’s Kitchen and A-Bay’s Island Grill.

Cultural events regularly occur at the shopping center and will continue during the renovation. Click here for more information on the performance schedule.
