Puna and Waiākea community members are invited to join their neighboring farmers and ranchers for upcoming meetings of local working groups with U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service.

Upcoming meetings

Puna Local Working Group

  • 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Aug. 13
  • Volcano Art Center, 19-4074 Old Volcano Road, Volcano

Waiākea Local Working Group

  • 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Aug. 22
  • Natural Resources Conservation Service Conference Room 328, 154 Waiānuenue Ave., Hilo

Local conservation districts convene these working group meetings — which are open to the public — with support from the Natural Resources Conservation Service.

They gather input from a diverse group of stakeholders with agricultural and environmental interests. Their feedback helps Natural Resources Conservation Service guide conservation priorities in the local communities for the upcoming fiscal year.
