Man faces multiple charges after an incident in Kalapana last week

Joseph Williams, also known as Clarence Clayton Williams, of Kalapana was arrested and charged with several offenses related to an incident that occurred at an Ala Iki Road residence in Kalapana on April 24.

Williams, 40, is charged with criminal property damage, terroristic threatening, burglary, assault and unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle. He made his initial appearance in Hilo District Court on Monday afternoon and will appear for a preliminary hearing on Wednesday. His bail was maintained at $96,000.

The most serious offenses — criminal property damage in the first degree and burglary in the first degree — are both Class B felony offenses and carry a penalty of either a 10-year prison term or four years probation and up to 18 months in jail.
