Creative Media Summit to build foundation for thriving Big Island media ecosystem
Hawai‘i Island youth and residents have consistently voiced a desire for more opportunities in the creative industries. Who better than our own people to tell our stories, share our culture and uplift our local nonprofits and businesses?
Yet so many organizations and entrepreneurs struggle to communicate their message while so many talented creatives have the skills to craft meaningful, authentic content that resonates locally and globally.

Help find a solution and get in on the ground floor of the Big Island becoming a leader in Hawai‘i’s media industry during the Hawai‘i Island Creative Media Summit from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. March 27 at Arc of Hilo, located at 1099 Waiānuenue Ave., in Hilo.
Doors open at 8 a.m. and the summit gets underway at 9 a.m.
It is a gathering designed to:
- Connect like-minded creatives.
- Build pathways for learning and collaboration.
- Strengthen a circular economy that prioritizes locals helping locals.
The summit agenda includes a keynote speech, panel discussion, live survey, breakout discussions and media index.
Breakout sessions will include talks about overcoming challenges and building careerss in media; nonprofits, small business and government identifying the kinds of media and content they need; and building the talent pipeline for a thriving media industry on Hawai’i Island.
