The Hawai‘i Police Department Hilo Community Policing Section invites the downtown Hilo community to meet its newly promoted community policing officers and get reintroduced to its existing team members during a special meet-and-greet this week.

Community members are invited to the event from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Mokupāpapa Discovery Center, located at 76 Kamehameha Ave., in downtown Hilo.

Officers will discuss their work and policing efforts in the downtown area. More importantly, they will listen to ideas and suggestions about how they can work together with the community to make downtown Hilo a safer and more enjoyable environment for all.
